Submission Requirements

In order for your submission to be accepted, it must meet the following requirements:

  1.  The person submitting the manuscript must be an student (13 years or older and not full-time enrolled in college) with the support of a mentor as outlined in our author eligibility requirements.
  2. The manuscript must be submitted using our manuscript template, following the instructions in the document correctly.
  3. If the study involves human subjects or vertebrate animals, documentation of regulatory approval must be included in the submission.
  4. The manuscript must appropriately cite any outside sources of information, data, or software according to our reference formatting guidelines.
  5. The manuscript must represent original research conducted by high school students, with appropriate guidance from their mentor. Plagiarism or duplicate submissions will not be accepted.
  6. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance of your manuscript. Utilizing the information contained in the submission guide below while preparing your submission will help streamline the review process in avoiding commonly made mistakes.
